James E. Baiers


James E. Baiers has more than 35 years of experience in all areas of the law. 

He has provided advice and litigated matters involving all aspects of employment law, including discrimination claims, wrongful discharge, and administrative matters involving all federal and state laws such as the Family Medical Leave Act, American Disability Act, Age Discrimination Act, Wage and Hour Laws, Title VII and OSHA.  Jim’s extensive experience in litigation in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies, provides clients with the expertise to navigate these complex areas impacting your business.

He is experienced in all areas of corporate law, including buying and selling business, preparing and negotiating contracts, employment and non-compete agreements, and all of the necessary corporate governance documents to keep business compliant.

He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude from Western Michigan University and a Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude from the Detroit College of Law, Michigan State University.  He is active in various community and professional groups and is a past President of the Detroit Golf Club.
