Sarah Rusnell has been with the Michigan Department of Treasury since 2013. Ms. Rusnell has a Bachelor of Communication Arts and Sciences degree from Michigan State University. She is a senior analyst in Tax Administration specializing in communication and outreach. In her time with Treasury Sarah has worked extensively with sales, use, and withholding (SUW) taxes, Michigan Treasury Online (MTO) optimization, and developing taxpayer education programs.
Roman Koval has been with the Michigan Department of Treasury since 2010 and has an MS in Accounting from Walsh College. Mr. Koval currently works for the Tax Compliance Bureau as part of the Detroit based Cash Basis Audit Team, where he performs Sales, Use and Tobacco tax audits, and participates in various special projects for the Department. During his time with the Department of Treasury, he has also worked as an auditor for the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Prior to his employment with the State of Michigan, he has worked in public accounting as an auditor performing assurance services for the financial industry, and a staff accountant involved in general ledger accounting and tax preparation.
Trisha Berry has been with the Michigan Department of Treasury since 2011. Mrs. Berry has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a senior auditor in Field Audit with the Tax Compliance Bureau. She audits Sales, Use, and Corporate Income taxes. She also helps conduct the training of Tax Compliance Bureau’s newly hired auditors and has developed and trained continuing education programs for existing auditors.
